Servers in Sweden
Equikura runs in data centres in Gothenburg operated by an ISO 27001-certified operator and meeting the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority's (PTS) class A requirements – with perimeter protection, personal access control with logging, CCTV, redundant power and cooling, and 24/7 surveillance. Your data is stored in Sweden.
Encrypted traffic and secure sign-in
All traffic between the app and the servers is encrypted over HTTPS. You sign in with Mobile BankID or email and password – passwords are never stored in plain text, and an account's sessions can be revoked on every device at once.
Two independent backups
Every night the database is checked and copied, encrypted with AES‑256, together with all images and documents – in daily, weekly and monthly generations, with one copy on a separate server. Independently of that, the hosting provider takes its own daily copies that cannot be changed or deleted, not even in a breach. They are also encrypted with AES‑256 and kept in another data centre in a different part of the city.
Protection and monitoring 24/7
A firewall that stops intrusion attempts before they reach the server, continuous malware scanning, protection against denial-of-service attacks and security updates without downtime. Servers and storage run in redundant clusters, and technicians are on call around the clock. The hosting provider is covered by NIS2, supervised by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority.
Every clinic kept separate
Each clinic's data is kept completely separate from other clinics'. The horse owner owns the horse's data, shares it by category and can remove a share at any time. Permissions are set per role.
GDPR built in
The data processing agreement is signed directly in the app. You can export your data as JSON or PDF and request erasure yourself under Profile – My data. Medical records are kept in line with the Swedish Board of Agriculture's regulations. Sub-processors within the EU; the AI features in the USA under the EU's standard contractual clauses.
AI suggests – you decide
Whatever AI reads – vaccination certificates, lab results – is marked with its source and only saved once you have approved it. Calculations and thresholds are handled in code, never by AI.

The horse owner owns the horse's data and chooses who gets to see it. You share by category and can remove a share whenever you like.

Create an account and add your horse. It takes a minute. You can sign in with Mobile BankID or with email and password.
Is Equikura available as an app?
Yes. Equikura is available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play, and works just as well in your browser.
How can a clinic or stable try it?
Apply for an account with your professional role and try it free for 7 days. You then choose your subscription in the app.
How is the data backed up?
Every night a backup of the database and all images and documents is taken, encrypted with AES‑256. The copies are kept in several generations and one copy is stored on a separate server. The hosting provider also takes its own daily copies that cannot be changed or deleted – encrypted and kept in another data centre. You can export your own data under Profile – My data (GDPR).
